Refugee Outreach - Video Story

This is one of the stories from our series on “Extravagant Generosity” that we’re producing with Two20 Media for the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.

It tells the story of a Sunday School class who got together to help refugees transition into the Houston Texas area. Stay tuned for more stories.

Cool Motion Graphics Tutorial - UNOH Logo

Some of you may remember Todd VanSlyck, who’s the director of Multimedia at the UNOH (University of Northwest Ohio). He did a six part series for us several months ago on “what makes great video”.

Well, this time he’s put together a very cool motion graphics tutorial about how he did a composite of the UNOH logo. At first glance, this video may look all too simple. But that’s because he did such a nice job with it.

I recommend watching the final version first. Then, watch the layers of work that went in to this piece to make it look like the logo really belongs in the scene.

Extravagant Generosity - Post Production

The tour is over and ahead of us lie hours of footage that will make up a video series on generosity within Texas churches.

The entire production was shot in HD and will be used as a resource for the TAC Conference towards the end of May, 2010. Our travels took us from Houston and the Galveston Bay area all the way up to the TX/AR border and as far west as College Station (plus several "one light" towns in between).

We interviewed many givers of generosity and many recipients (a lot of time they were one in the same - it seemed like one story of generosity always lead to another story). We’ll be sure to post video highlights from the stories as they come together.

Extravagant Generosity - Video Tour

Hannisdal Express has teamed up with Two20 Media again to produce a series of mini-documentaries for the Texas Annual Conference of the UMC.

The theme for 2010 is Extravagant Generosity. Over the next couple of weeks we’ll be traveling throughout east Texas capturing a variety of stories relating to this theme. The videos will be used at their conference in May as well as be an online resource.

A few of the stories we'll be covering have to do with helping refugees who arrive in the states with nothing, “back to school bashes” where churches provide clothes and other basic necessities for children in need, and churches partnering together to help rebuild after hurricane Ike.

Check back soon and hopefully we’ll have some pictures or video to share.

"Wait Time" - Lima Memorial - Hospital TV Ad

This HD TV spot for Lima Memorial Health System lets people know that they can text the word "time" to 95495 and get an instant estimate on their current emergency center wait time.

As if this idea wasn't cool enough, they've taken it a step further by syncing their current ER wait time to the electronic billboard on the corner of Cable & Elida roads in Lima. As the estimated wait time changes, the graphical billboard updates to reflect the most recent estimate.
