Breast Cancer Awareness TV Commercial

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and Hannisdal Express teamed up with Lima Memorial Health System to promote their digital mammography services and encourage women to get a yearly mammogram.

This commercial was designed to correspond with a postcard that is being mailed to residents in Lima, Ohio during the month of October.  Breast cancer is the most common form of cancer in Allen County and yet 52% of women over the age of forty have not had a mammogram in the last year.

The commercial features Dr. Darlene Weyer who is a radiologist specializing in Mammography Imaging.

For more information you can call Lima Memorial's Women's Health Center at 419-998-4497 or go to limamemorial.org.

Don't put off your mammogram until it's too late.

Media Expo 2009 | Columbus, OH

Yesterday I attended the Media Expo 2009 in Columbus, OH put on by Industrial Video Corporation.  It was held at the Aladdin Shrine Center on Stelzer Rd (across from Easton Town Center).

It was a small but standard media expo with fairly good representation from most of the larger video related companies.  I always enjoy getting my hands on the equipment as opposed to clicking through PDF's and downloading clips.  Since this was my first time at the event I can't say how well it was attended compared to previous years, but there seemed to be a small but steady stream of people flowing in and out.

The exhibitors that caught my eye were Panasonic, Sony, AJA, and Lowel.  I was slightly disappointed with Canon's representation - I've been waiting to hear when Canon is going to get in the game with a true tapeless broadcast HD video camera.  The only reps they had were for their lenses and projectors, they had no information on their camcorders.

Panasonics AG-HPX300 P2 Camcorder with AVC-Intra was probably the most impressive floor demo.

Over all, it was worth the trip to have some questions answered and demo some upcoming gear.

Chicago Bears Stadium Video Ad

Hannisdal Express will be at the home opener for the Chicago Bears this weekend!  Well, sort of.

We recently teamed up with sportstravel.com to animate their ad for the 320 foot long ribbon panel jumbo-trons (located on each side of the stadium at Soldiers Field).  The video is a twelve second loop (designed by Kelly vanDellen) that promotes sportstravel.com taking care of all your fan travel needs for everything "Bears" related.  We also created a version of the ad for the "Game Clock" display.

So, if you happen to be in Chicago watching the Bears take on the Steelers, or if you're enjoying it from your living room, be sure to keep an eye out for the sportstravel.com animations provided by Hannisdal Express.

Ike | The Aftermath (Mobile Production)

One year ago this September, Hannisdal Express and Two20 Media teamed up to produce a video that would inform people about the devastation caused by Hurricane Ike and the relief aid that was needed.

Hurricane Ike was the third costliest storm in US History and caused tremendous damage on the Texas gulf coast.  The hurricane was in the news for a few days but then fell between the cracks as stories of the presidential election and the US economy took precedent.

Due to the massive power outages, we rented an RV and traveled throughout the effected regions (this ensured we had power and a place to stay wherever we went).  We talked with locals about their experiences and recorded footage of the aftermath.  Because this project required a quick turnaround, we spent time in between locations editing on our Macbook Pro's (despite the bumpy roads).

The video was produced for The Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church and UMCOR (United Methodist Committee On Relief).  It covered some general reporting of the aftermath but emphasized the damage within the Methodist community.  Some churches were destroyed and many pastors and members lost everything.

The relief efforts are still going on and if you're interested you can view the video on our "video samples" page or visit The Texas Annual Conference web site.
